What to Expect
Our coaching program is designed for students in grades four through college who need structured, strengths-based support to succeed academically and personally. Students meet for 50–60 minute private, in-person coaching sessions each week in a comfortable and welcoming workspace created exclusively for Focus of Tampa Bay students. These sessions are tailored to help students build executive function skills, develop effective study habits, and navigate the demands of school with greater confidence and independence.
Each session includes a mental health check-in and monitoring of ADHD symptoms, followed by a review of current grades, assignments, projects, and upcoming tests. Together, the coach and student reflect on previously set goals, plan for the week ahead, and begin tackling non-preferred tasks to build momentum and reduce procrastination. Sessions focus on implementing practical strategies for homework and project planning, test preparation, and organization, all while fostering self-understanding, resilience, and goal-setting habits.
In addition to weekly coaching, parents receive post-session notes to stay informed and involved. When appropriate, our coaches collaborate with your ADHD clinician to ensure comprehensive, integrated support. The goal is to create lasting, positive change by helping students turn insight into action—both in and out of the classroom.
