Hello from Coach Alysia

Thank you for entrusting me to work with your child. I love working with students. Together we create executive functioning scaffolding tools that help build confidence and allow each student to achieve their goals. I look forward to getting started!
My Story
I have a Bachelor of Science in General Studies from the University of Southern California and a Master of Education degree from California State University, Long Beach. Over the course of thirty-five years in education and health, I’ve worked extensively with youth and have held a variety of positions. I have served as a trained Girls Circle facilitator, a student service program coordinator at Ryan Nece Foundation, the chair of Together for All Children at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, the President of the Parent Teacher Student Association at Henry B. Plant High School, a community liaison for the USF Diabetes Center, and a teacher at Shorecrest Preparatory School. I also serve as a board member of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Foundation where I participate on the Institutional Grants committee working with the board to grant money to clinicians to develop and hone their skills, as well as their research interests.
I deeply enjoy my role as a student coach and have experience coaching students ranging from 6th grade through post college. In my role as a student coach, I have received extensive training and professional development in academic coaching for students. Over the years I have participated in numerous professional development seminars, webinars and other training specifically targeting working with students with ADHD, Autism and Anxiety.
In my free time I enjoy cheering for Tampa Bay’s home teams (Go, Bolts!), cooking with farm-to-table ingredients, preparing Armenian food, and baking chocolate chip cookies. When I have the time to get away, I love to visit my hometown of San Francisco to see family and friends. My husband Greg and I have two amazing, grown daughters, Melanie and Holly. We also enjoy being a canine host family for guide dogs in training at Southeastern Guide Dogs. Last year we adopted a retired service dog, Rebel, a 4-year-old yellow labrador retriever.
My students call me Alysia and I can’t wait to meet your student! Let’s get started!
